The Fast Track Detox Diet book is a simple guide for detox. We especially like that it is focused on diet / nutrition and no supplements are necessary, although adding them is ok as well. It can be modified to a shorter or longer course. This is our summary.
The Fast Track Detox Diet

Prequel – 7 days
- Each day choose at least one Liver-Loving Food from each group:
- Crucifers – cabbage, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, broccoli, broccoli sprouts
- Green leafy vegetable and herbs – parsley, kale, watercress, cilantro, beet greens, collards, escarole, dandelion greens, mustard greens
- Citrus – orange, lemon, lime
- Sulfur-rich foods – garlic (1 clove), onions, eggs (2), daikon radish (1/4 c)
- Liver-healers – artichoke, asparagus, celery, dandelion root teach, whey (1-2 scoops), nutritional yeast flakes (1-2 tsp)
- Each day choose at least two of the Colon-Caring Foods: powdered psyllium husks (1-2 tsp in 8 oz water), milled or ground flaxseeds (2-3 Tbs), carrot, apple, pear, berries
- Fiber-Plex 1 to 2 caps 3x/day with meals
- Each day drink ½ your body weight in ounces of water
- Each day choose at least two servings of protein: lean beef, veal, lamb, skinless poultry, or fish. Vegetarians at least 2 Tbs of high quality fermented soy (tempeh, natto, miso), blue-green algae or spirulina
- Each day have 1-2 Tbs of olive oil or flaxseed oil
Fast-Track One Day Detox
- Prepare “Miracle Juice”
- Alternate drinking 1 cup water with 1 cup Miracle Juice throughout day
- One Colon-Caring food upon arising and at the end of the day
- Light Exercise
Sequel – 3 days
- Same as Prequel
- Replenish Probiotics or “good” bacteria
- Each day choose one serving of Sauerkraut or yogurt
- Or… each day take Multi-Probiotic 15 billion 3x/day with meals
- Betaine Plus 1 or more caps 3x/day with meals (avoid if causes upset stomach)
- Bilex 1 cap 3x/day with meals
Avoid Detox Detractors:
- Excess fat, especially trans fats and hydrogenated oils from margarine and processed and fried foods
- Sugar and all its relatives, including high-fructose corn syrup, honey, molasses, maple syrup, sugar cane crystals, sugar cane juice, evaporated cane juice, dried cane juice, maltodextrin, and sugars ending in “-ose” such as sucrose, dextrose, fructose, levulose.
- Artificial sweeteners, including aspartame, sucralose (splenda), and sugar alcohols such as xylitol, sorbitol, mannitol, maltitol)
- Refined carbohydrates, including white rice and products made from white flour
- Gluten, found in wheat, barley and rye (includes spelt, kamut)
- Soy Protein Isolates, found in low-carb “energy” bars and soy protein powders. Processed soy foods such as soy milk, soy cheese, soy ice cream, soy hot dogs and soy burgers.
- Alcohol and caffeine
- Mold, found on overly ripe fruits, especially melons, bananas and tropical fruits
- Milk and cheese, including ice-cream, half-and-half, and any foods made with milk and cheese
Miracle Juice Recipe
- 2 quarts cranberry water
- 8 oz unsweetened cranberry juice or 3 Tbs concentrate
- Add to enough water to make 2 quarts total
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp ground ginger
- ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
- ¾ cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- ¼ cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
- Stevia to taste (2 packets is about right)
- Bring cranberry water to a light boil and reduce heat to low
- Place spices in tea ball and add to cranberry water
- Simmer 15-20 minutes then cool to room temperature
- Stir in orange and lemon juices; add stevia if desired
