Cancer “Terrain” Testing

by | Dec 26, 2017 | Articles, Cancer, Conditions

There are numerous tests that help us evaluate and improve the “terrain” that encourages cancer growth.  There are also cancer markers that reflect the extent of cancer presence and help us guide treatment.

  • Sedimentation rate (ESR), C-reactive protein (CRP), LDH isoenzymes
  • Ferritin, Interleukin 6, IL 8, Galectin-3, homocysteine, uric acid

Infections & Immune

  • Viral titers for Ebstein-Barr virus, Cytomegalovirus
  • Natural killer cell activity

Circulation & Angiogenesis

  • Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), copper, ceruloplasmin

  • Heavy metals
  • Environmental toxins, mold toxins
  • Liver enzymes (GGT), 8-hydroxy-deoxyguanosine

  • Spectracell, Genova or similar nutrient panels
  • Selected – Vitamin D, iron, b12, selenium

Digestive Health

  • Delayed Food allergy testing / elimination through
  • Comprehensive digestive stool analysis – dysbiosis, leaky gut, enzyme insufficiency, parasites

  • Thyroid – TSH, free t4, free t3, reverse t3, total T3
  • Cortisol – salivary testing to get 4 samples throughout the daytime
  • Sex hormones as indicated

  • Fasting blood sugar, insulin, Hemoglobin A1C, IGF-1 (growth hormone)

Cancer Markers

  • As indicated – CEA, CA-125, PSA, etc

  • Read “Feel Good Nutrigenomics” by Amy Yasko – Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNPs)
