Customizing dietary advice on a very individual basis we strive to help our patients eat well and enjoy a rich and healthy diet without the stress of trying to fit into "one size fits all" diet plans. Eating healthy does not mean spending more or eating boring food and it does not require obsessive weighing and measuring of foods. Emphasizing organic raw whole foods, keep it simple and enjoy.
We can help you cut through the dietary "hypes" that are out there and develop a plan that is based on science as well as experience in providing nutritional advice that gets results. Advocating simple dietary practices that harken back to the way our ancestors ate, we endorse many diet plans that roughly follow these principles. Good examples would include the Dean Ornish diet, South Beach diet, the Paleolithic diet, and the Mediterranean diet, just to name a few.
Nutrition is not just the intake of proper nutrients for good health, but also the ability of the body to take up those nutrients and convert them to energy. Our digestive health consult also addresses problems in the gastro-intestinal tract that lead to "gut dysfunction" and ultimately to not benefiting as much as you should from good dietary intake. This includes conditions such as abnormal gut ecology or dysbiosis, "leaky gut", chronic gut infections, and delayed food allergies.
